Microaggressions and other inequities will inevitably persist largely due to the dominant middle class culture of power. Discuss.

Let's get some stuff out of the way.  According to an article by the New York Times, poor whites live in better neighborhoods than middle class blacks.  This means a couple of things.  Firstly, it presents us with this concept of segregation still present in our society today.  This also means that a true integration of middle class whites and blacks has not really occurred yet.  Since the middle class is, as the question states, a dominant culture of power, we can therefore derive that whites dominate the middle class.  And with such a history of hate and racism, I believe that microaggressions will persist as long as the middle class is dominated by whites.  A middle class society dominated by one race will inevitably breed conflict between races.  Whites, who have always historically made up the majority of the third class, might feel threatened by the increasing percentage of Asian or black families.  

Especially in areas in the South, microaggressions might serve as an easy way to channel anger and resentment towards this new rising "threat."  Micro aggressions are much more difficult to detect and prevent, which makes them ideal for this new "diverse" generation.

So in conclusion, I certainly believe that micro aggressions and other inequities will persist as long as there is a dominant white middle class who holds power over much of American society.
