Everyone should be learning from other people about their races, although many may come from the same background they might not have the same values. Schools should integrate these ideas and teach kids how to appreciate their cultures. Schools can do this by dedicating a period a week teaching students about different cultures. By doing this the students will begin to understand and accept everything about the culture and race would no longer be an issue with bullying.
During a PD session we were discussing how questions on standard testing are created with more of a white student in mind, since words like "balcony" and "yacht" aren't words commonly used in a minority household. Changing these questions and including minority names and items every student would know no matter what household would lessen the gap in these schools and create a better learning environment.
