Affirmative Action creates Reverse Racism

I believe that this is not true. Affirmative action is often misunderstood or misinterpreted as 'reverse racism', due to the fact that it gives a chance to minorities and many more people, who are oppressed, to get opportunities than people, who aren’t oppressed, would be able to get. Affirmative action is just making everyone equal; by raising privileges that people doesn’t have, and sometimes oppressing it for people who has those privileges already.  Although it doesn’t create reverse racism, it doesn’t hide the fact that this country was extremely discriminatory; they’re just trying to cover that fact up and also, forgetting about what this country has done in the past. Not to mention, we are still racist today, however, it isn’t as severe as it was back then. One may still have different stereotypes about another person based on gender, race, religion, or sexuality. But affirmative action does not create reverse racism.
